Library and Documentation

The Central Library is the heart of the Institute. It provides one of the important academic services to the Institute. A well equipped fully air conditioned and spacious Library with separate reading halls of adequate seating capacity is centrally located with easy access providing the right impetus for the intellectual growth of the students, teachers, research scholars others around Library:

The Library has a rich collection of books and journals on science and technology including Chemical, Civil, Computer science, Electrical and Telecommunication, Information Technology and Mechanical Engineering as well as related subjects like Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Management. It provides information services such as current awareness service, selective dissemination of information service, reference service, bibliographic service etc. Besides, Library also has a good collection in the areas of humanities and social sciences housed on the ground floor of the Library.

Digital library comprising of internet facility and vast collection of CDs on course content and other fields of academic interest .

Free online access is available 24X7 to all the SIST  users through the Campus

The Library functions such as circulation control, cataloguing and serials control have been automated. It has an integrated software package for library operations, such as, Cataloging, Circulation & Acquisition.
Being a member of British Council Library, Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) has been made accessible and made available to all the SIST users through the browser.

Library Collection

Over 9000 books covering more than 1700 titles. Over 50 Journals and more than 500 magazines and 5 books per students are issued .Extra time reading room facility is accessible at the library.

The Audio-Visual Section is equipped with a , Audio Cassette Players, Color Television Sets, Video Cassette Recorders and Educational Audio & Video cassettes.
